Socio-economic Section

The socioeconomics section conducts research on social and economic issues and socioeconomic impacts of forestry sector programmes to help develop sustainable policies, plans, programmes and actions in the Forestry Sector.  It also ensures that social and economic issues are properly considered in the selection, management and impact monitoring of the forestry research conducted by the Department of Forest Research and Survey (DFRS).
 Strengthen the socioeconomic component of the research in the forestry sector of Nepal
 Conduct market studies and socioeconomic analysis
 Study the contribution of forestry on rural livelihoods and national economy
 Study the role of bamboo, rattan and NTFPs in poverty reduction
